The PV4-MID+ is a smart composition of robust, lockable protective construction with built-in Trotec multiple socket outlet PV4-MID – all in one device and "made in Germany". As such the PV4-MID+ can easily warrant safe usage in accordance with DGUV, MID, MessEG and MessEV.

It's the inner values that matter – MID-compliant

Integrated within the protective construction you will find our solid multiple socket outlet PV4-MID with a hardwearing, solid rubber industrial housing. Underneath a lockable sealing cap this multiple socket outlet not only houses an energy consumption meter with an initial factory calibration according to MID* enabling the commercial application for billing purposes, it also comes equipped with a residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) thus meeting the requirements stipulated by the German Employer's Liability Insurance Association for the current consumption using sockets on construction and installation sites. The extremely robust housing with integrated carrying handle accommodates four safety sockets with self-closing hinged covers.

Further applicable in Germany in addition to the requirements of the European Measuring Instruments Directive are certain consumer obligations – under the heading MessEG (German Measurement and Calibration Act). Using the lockable multiple socket outlet PV4-MID+ ensures you are always on the safe side, for its robust, powder-coated steel sheet construction with lock hole for a lock or seal prevents tampering with the power consumer during operation. Therefore, the entire construction is optimally suited for use in accordance with the German Measurement and Calibration Act (MessEG) as well as the German Measurement and Calibration Ordinance (MessEV).

The PV4-MID+ permits a building site power supply handling in line with the regulations – starting with the current consumption to consumption measurement for further calculations

Legally required measurement and calibration obligations for water damage restoration and construction drying

In accordance with the current requirements of the German Measurement and Calibration Act (MessEG) and the appertaining German Measurement and Calibration Ordinance (MessEV) energy consumption meters used for billing purposes need to be calibrated or metrologically traceable to a corresponding device. MID*-compliant measuring devices meet these requirements.

Further applicable in Germany in addition to the requirements of the European Measuring Instruments Directive are certain consumer obligations, the violation of which is also a regulatory offence:

For instance, in case of integrated measuring devices display and inscriptions must be clearly visible and legible; if not properly labelled, a sign must be attached to the main unit as well. An appropriate documentation shall ensure the accountability of the determined measured values.

Further specifications have been defined by the authorities for external measuring devices such as multiple socket outlets with integrated MID meter: It must be ensured that no additional power consumers can be connected or the existing ones replaced by others whilst the device is in use.

Moreover, restoration companies are obliged to maintain a current meter list as well as to report all types of measuring devices intended for use – including built-in ones – to the responsible supervisory authority for calibration within six weeks after their initial operation. * What does MID-compliant mean?

MID-compliant counters correspond to the European Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) 2004/22/EC that defines inter alia the requirements for active power meters used for billing purposes. This also applies to, say, the energy consumption measuring for recharging to insurance companies or customers. Such devices are supplied with the initial factory calibration valid for 16 years in case of electromechanical counters and 8 years in case of electronic counters. After this time they have to be recalibrated.
