Set of jigsaw blades for wood
10-piece saw blade set for jigsaw operations in softer materials
10 saw blades made of high carbon steel (HCS) for use in softer materials
Seeing as a jigsaw can only ever be as good as the inserted saw blade, the decision to use Trotec jigsaw blade sets is always a smart move. Provided in this set are 10 jigsaw blades manufactured to the highest quality and designed specifically for sawing wood.
The milled saw blades are made entirely of carbon steel, which is particularly well suited for sawing softer materials such as wood, fibreboards or plastic. The set comprises more than one piece of each of the three different saw blade types. That way, you always have the right wood saw blade at hand for every task.
Saw blades included in this set:
- 4 saw blades with milled and alternately set toothing, blade length 100 mm, blade thickness 1.2 mm. Constant tooth spacing of 3.2 mm (pitch 8 TPI).
Ideally suited for straight rough cuts and quick work progress in soft wood with a thickness of 4 to 50 mm. - 4 saw blades with milled teeth in a wavy set, blade length 92 mm, blade thickness 1 mm. Constant tooth spacing of 2.1 mm (pitch 12 TPI).
Ideally suited for straight fine cuts in soft wood with a thickness of 2 to 15 mm. - 2 saw blades with milled teeth in a wavy set, blade length 75 mm, blade thickness 1 mm. Constant tooth spacing of 2.1 mm (pitch 12 TPI).
Ideally suited for curved fine cuts in soft wood with a thickness of 2 to 15 mm.
What are the distinguishing features of an ideal jigsaw blade?
A high quality of the cut and a quick working progress are dependent on the specific material, the tooth geometry, the tooth pitch as well as the width and thickness of the saw blade.
Material: Our saw blades for wood are made entirely of carbon steel, which is particularly well suited for sawing softer materials such as wood, fibreboards or plastic.
Tooth geometry: Milled teeth with alternate set produce a relatively rough cut at a quicker rate. Milled teeth with wavy set cause the chipping to take place on the entire tooth surface leading to fine, straight cuts. The tooth geometry of Trotec saw blades ensures optimum cuts for the respective application and material selection.
Tooth pitch: The pitch indicates the spacing between two tooth tips. The softer the material, the better suited is wider pitch, because more chips are formed that need to be removed through the gullets. If the pitch is insufficient, the discharge can become clogged and the saw might get jammed. The tooth spacing of Trotec saw blades is optimally geared to the respective application.
Blade width: The width of the saw blade influences the cut. Thicker blades are better for straight cuts, thinner ones facilitate curved cuts. The tooth axis of Trotec curve-cutting saw blades is set back to a degree that it runs in a straight line with the jigsaw’s lifting rod axis which further increases the saw blade’s manoeuvrability.
Blade thickness: The thickness determines the blade’s edge holding ability and equal angle for straight cuts. Both are better with a thicker blade, however this increases the length of the sawing process, because more material needs to be cut up. The thickness of Trotec saw blades is optimally adapted for the respective material and a healthy balance between edge holding ability and sawing progress.
A few practical benefits:
- Complete set of Trotec brand quality
- 10 saw blades made of high carbon steel (HCS) for use in softer materials
- Single lug shank (T-shank) permitting the combination with pendulum action jigsaws of various makes
All important properties in the quick overview
By the way: The quality saw blades of this set can be used not only with pendulum action jigsaws from Trotec but with all jigsaws provided with a single lug shank fitting (T-shank), which applies to the vast majority of available pendulum action jigsaws.
